Tala Iron Lightning, a Native American P.I., doing her best to hide in plain sight, is pulled back into investigating the serial disappearances of Indigenous women when her cousin goes missing from the reservation in North Dakota. Battling addiction, PTSD from her previous encounter with a murderer, and her own torn past, Tala soon finds she is being haunted by a spirit that demands more from her than she has to give. Nativeland is an unsettling examination of the people and places we call “home”, the dangerous secrets we keep, and the lies we cling to that separate us from both ourselves and others.
